Travellers using Liverpool John Lennon
Airport this summer will have experienced a new feel to online
carpark booking
following the introduction of e-park, the new online booking process
provided by ts.com. Peel Airports have been using ts.com to provide
their online carpark booking for over four years, and have recently
renewed this contract following a competitive tender process.
The new look online
car park booking system is attractive to look at, being closely
branded to match the main airport website and
is more intuitive for people to use, displaying twin calendars
and a simpler booking process. The changes have had a noticeable
impact on sales as there was an immediate uplift in premium
space occupancy after the refresh was launched. Mark Ellis, Managing
Director at ts.com commented, “We have
an excellent relationship with the Peel Airports Group and are
delighted to be continuing this into the future to provide their
online carpark booking. As the group’s Airports have grown
over the years, the ts.com system has helped them to significantly
grow their online carpark pre-booking. We are confident we can
help further drive this growth into the future, which has already
been demonstrated through the uptake in premium space bookings
at Liverpool John Lennon following the launch of their new look
booking process. “
The new look carparking
solution uses cascading style sheets to closely match the look
and feel of the individual airport’s
websites. As the ts.com system is fully integrated into the carpark
access control equipment, the customer simply has to use the
credit card they made the booking with to enter the carpark,
ensuring a seamless customer experience from booking to arrival.
Neil Phillipson from
The Peel Airports Group commented, “The
changes to the Liverpool John Lennon Airport online carpark booking
system were the first to be introduced following the contract extension
and have already been rolled out to the other airports in the Peel
Group: Durham Tees Valley Airport and Robin Hood Airport Doncaster
Sheffield. Our customers experiencing a faster, more convenient
booking process, which is helping to convert web visits into bookings.
We look forward to working with ts.com to introduce further improvements
to the system, which will enhance the growth of carparking at Peel
Airports and, most importantly, our customer’s experience.”

Data enhancement and management specialists, Datanomic today
announced that Brent Council has selected Datanomic’s dn:Director
to play an important role in cleansing data for the Brent Client
Index. The Client Index is a centrally held index of Brent’s
citizens which provides a holistic view of individuals by matching
data from the back office systems which support the Council’s
various lines of business. dn:Director will improve the quality
of key elements of data such as address, gender, email address
and phone numbers and then integrate with the Initiate Identity
Hub which provides the matching engine at the heart of the Client
Index. dn:Director’s reporting metrics and dashboard features
will be used to demonstrate higher data quality improvements and
reporting to respective senior management in each Council department.
Data quality is a critical
issue for us in terms of compliance with Data Protection requirement
but also because good quality
data enables better customer service provision,” said Tony
Ellis, Head of IT for Brent Council. “With Datanomic’s
dn:Director we are able to use improvements in the quality of our
data to deliver improvements directly in our levels of customer
service, reduce our cost of contacting customers, and reduce instances
of fraud through consistency and greater transparency of our core
systems data.”We selected Datanomic on the technical strength
of their performance and dn:Director’s ease of use. We like
to take a partnership approach with all our suppliers and we look
forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Datanomic.” As
part of our proof of concept, we gave them 100,000 records directly
from our Client Index, and the dn:Director system provided a complete
breakdown of statistics on invalid or poor quality data fields
in just a matter of minutes.”
Brent Council will be
deploying the Datanomic system over the coming months. Nine of
the Council’s back office and departmental
systems feed into the Client Index, including Housing Benefits,
Housing, Revenues and Benefits, Social Care for Children and Adults,
Electoral Registration, CRM, Complaints, Schools and the Library
system. dn:Director will be used to automatically cleanse the data
on a daily basis as change of circumstances information flows into
the Index. Over time, Datanomic will be extended to integrate with
up to 20 of the Council’s back office systems which will
be feeding the Client Index.
“One of the biggest costs of managing a Client Index or
identity hub is Data Stewards having to manually tidy up data.
Using the power of Datanomic we are able to automatically and efficiently
improve the quality of our information and that in turn realises
additional value from the investment we’ve already made in
our Client Index by giving us a greater number of automatic data
matches and far fewer for the Data Stewards to manually resolve,” added
Ellis. “This not only reduces the cost of running the system,
but also provides a consistent means of tracking data quality,
improving our overall service, and fulfilling our legal requirements.
Datanomic will help us achieve our aim of becoming a ‘Centre
of Excellence’ for Data Management. By delivering a more
efficient service provision through better data quality, we will
be able to reap both cashable and non-cashable savings.
As Chairman of the Local
Government Partnership group, Data Connects, Tony Ellis is committed
to helping other Local Government Authorities
learn best practice for implementing ‘Single View of Citizen’ data
strategies. Mr Ellis will be delivering the keynote address at
Datanomic’s forthcoming Local Government seminar, to be held
at Wembley Stadium on 12th November 2008. In his address, Tony
will be outlining the challenges and solutions to deploying cross-council
services via the Brent Client Index. The free seminar is open to
all Local Government executives with responsibility for data management
and SVC systems deployment. Registration is via Datanomic’s
website at http://www.datanomic.com/about/events/
Described by industry
analysts as “arguably the most flexible
data quality product”, Datanomic’s dn:Director provides
a single, unified platform that enables both business and IT personnel,
such as data stewards, business analysts and owners of data, to
identify and rectify compromised data which can place operations
at risk. As a single product that encompasses profiling, analysis
and transformation, dn:Director enables better understanding, improvement,
protection and control of data quality for all types of structured
and non-structured, real-time and non-real time information.
