| Datanomic:
Datanomic and Ithaca Solutions partner to cleanse the way towards
smoother Mergers & Acquisitions, 14 February 2002 |
|
|
Datanomic, the data quality software specialist,
and Ithaca Solutions, the experts in complex IT transformation projects,
today finalised a partnership agreement, creating a distinctive
alliance which will ease the way for efficient mergers and acquisitions
in the future.
According to Ithaca Solutions CEO, Robert Dias: The
product, Datanomic, removes one of the most significant barriers
facing any data migration project. During mergers and acquisitions,
the quality of the data being integrated is directly related to
the success of the project. Datanomic has developed a specialist
software product to analyse, clean and repair any data type to user-specified
format. The powerful capabilities of Datanomic means we can be confident
that data inaccuracies, inconsistencies and anomalies will be addressed
with ease.
According to research published by PriceWaterhouseCoopers
in their Global Data Management Survey 2001, one in three in organisations
have delayed or cancelled new IT projects because of problems with
poor quality data.
Datanomic CEO Richard Marsh says: Our expanding
partner network reflects the relevance and demand for the Datanomic
software. We are very pleased to be associated with Ithaca Solutions
and I am confident that the partnership will develop significant
new business for both companies and world class solutions for our
clients.

| IDTechEx:
RFID research reports to get your business ahead, 02 February 2002 |
|
|
IDTechEx, the World's leading independant expert
on the development and application of low cost RFID, has just completed
three new market and company strategy reports, adding to its existing
range of consultancy reports:
- The Internet of Things: Massive new markets for automated
location, tracking, authentication and barcode replacement. Total
Asset Visibility.
This report gives the reality, the dream and
the emerging technology of The Internet of Things. Ultra low-cost
smart labels, tickets and cards will play a huge part in it.
In addition, RFID is linked, without human intervention, to
Global Positioning Systems (GPS), GSM radio location, Bluetooth
and other services. Virtual super-computing will make cost-effective
the necessary large and rapid computations, as will cheaper
data storage.
- Smart Transport: In the past, buses, trains, private
road transport, water and air transport were very separate industries.
Their ticketing was supplied by unrelated companies using different
technologies and standards were few and far between. Now stored-value
cards, remotely-sensed tickets and other advances are starting
to share the same or similar technologies. Standards are evolving
and interoperability is being energetically pursued.
This takes the form of intermodal transport
passes in a city such as one stored-value card that gets you
on any bus, train or ferry, as in Hong Kong, or interoperable
bus cards across a country. These smart card and ticket technologies
can be packaged into different shapes or electronically reconfigured.
Then they are useful for a wide range of non-ticketing uses
in transport. These include airport gold cards and frequent-flyer
cards, radio tags on taxis, buses, trains, baggage, freight,
even people and airport ground support equipment.
These tags, often supplied by the same manufacturers,
provide an enormous range of benefits from new earning streams
to cost-reduction, improved facilitation and enhanced security.
Users are increasingly doing one-stop shopping for smart cards,
tickets and labels. This report analyses all these opportunities
and trends. It is your reference book for the years to come.
- The Future Intelligent Packaging: This report provides
the first comprehensive examination of the intelligent packaging
industry and its markets. Intelligent packaging represents a very
large, fast-growing market, and this report allows suppliers,
packaging converters and users to identify the most profitable
strategies and technologies. As well as an introduction to this
exciting new area of packaging, this report provides a details
technological forecast and comprehensive breakdown of the market.
Five-year market forecasts have been created from an analysis
of an exclusive new market research survey.
