Active Hotels, was founded by Andy Phillipps and Adrian Critchlow in 1999. AVCP invested in its seed round in 2000. The company grew rapidly to become the largest European online hotel booking company, selling over $160 million of hotel room-nights in 11 countries for 11,000 hotels during 2004, with trailing EBIT of £3m. The company won numerous awards, including Deloitte fastest growing UK tech company, EY Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year and Sunday Times best employer. At the end of September 2004, the company was sold to Priceline.com for $161 million.

Cardcast was set up in 1991 with the backing of BBC Enterprises to provide card fraud prevention services across the UK using data-broadcast. The company received investment from MTI Ventures which appointed Chris Poulton as CEO. Chris rebuilt the management team and aggressively expanded the business to become the UK leader in card fraud prevention serving all the UK’s significant financial card issuers, oil companies and supermarket groups. He led its IPO on the London Stock Exchange AIM market, prior to Cardcast merging to form the core of what became Retail Decisions Plc with a market capitalisation of over £300 million.

AVCP invested in CI-Net in 2000 to support the development of ticketingsolutions, a comprehensive online ticket sales and marketing service enabling ticket vendors to drive sales through their web sites and run effective online marketing campaigns. CI-Net was sold to private equity backed MDNX in September 2010.

Datanomic specialises in developing software solutions for the auditing, cleansing and management of enterprise databases. The company markets a high performance solution which provides auditing and repair functions to rapidly pinpoint and resolve data quality problems within databases and data exchange processes. Datanomic was spun out from Cambridge based Quillion Group in a transaction arranged and funded by AVCP in May 2001. Datanomic was based at Downing Park Innovation Centre until October 2003. The company was acquired by Oracle in June 2011..

Netcentric Systems was established by Jane Garrett in 1998 to develop and market content management software which significantly reduced the cost of managing large websites. AVCP invested in 2000 and was contracted to provide sales and marketing and strategic consultancy. In 2001 Netcentric went public on the London Stock Exchange AIM market through a reverse takeover of a listed shell company.

NOMAD CORTEX is one of the most advanced and comprehensive card payments solutions for the banking industry on the market today, processing card-based transactions at every level of an Electronic Funds Transfer network, and is offered as software or a complete end-to-end card processing service for financial and retail organisations planning to introduce card issuing or outsource existing operations. AVCP invested in Nomad in 1997 with Chris Poulton becoming Chairman. In January 2008 Nomad was acquired by Metavante Payment Solutions a NYSE listed provider of banking and payments technology for $58 million.

Torstar was set up by technology entrepreneur Mike Bird to provide innovative data processing solutions. The company soon achieved a strong position in card payment and fraud prevention technology. AVCP invested and Chris Poulton became Chairman in 1997. The business developed fast, winning contracts from service providers and a major bank, and in 1999 was acquired by Gladstone Plc, a public company specialising in leisure management systems.

Transmo was founded by card payments specialists John Batten and Bob Carter to develop and operate multi-application smartcard schemes for UK local authorities. AVCP invested in the business and Chris Poulton became a director in 1997. Transmo introduced the UK's first smartcard based concessionary travel management scheme in Hertfordshire and went on to sign strategic deals with Visa Europe and EDS. In 1999 the business was acquired by ERG, an Australian public company and world leader in automated fare collection schemes.
