Datanomic,
the UK-based data quality solutions company, today announced
that market analyst
firm the Butler Group believes that the launch of its fully integrated
dn:Director offering will position it as a market leader within
six months. Butler Group’s Technical Audit of dn:Director
was an in-depth examination of the new solution from Datanomic
exploring company vision, product strategy, product functionality
and roadmap, and competitive positioning
Steve Tuck, chief strategy
officer, Datanomic, said, “The
assessment by the Butler Group confirms that dn:Director is the
best data quality solution available today and validates our ambitious
decision to create a strong challenger to the traditional, difficult
to use, data quality offerings. We have focused on delivering a
time-to-competency of days rather than months, allowing customers
to turn ‘dirty data’ into a corporate asset quickly
and easily. dn:Director provides the building blocks on which to
make informed decisions and establish new and innovative strategies.”
According to the Butler
Group report, Datanomic has developed an easy-to-use graphical
user interface that allows end-users to
construct complex data quality processes and that dn:Director would
benefit any organisation that does not have an integrated policy
towards data quality. Furthermore, the report stresses that dn:Director
would support the premise of starting small and expanding as an
organisation’s knowledge and capability increases, and the
flexible licensing means that the solution could be installed on
a single laptop and used as a proof-of-concept to profile part
of an organisation’s data before a larger deployment is conducted.
Butler Group believes this is a very sensible approach for any
organisation new to implementing data quality solutions.
Roy Illsley, senior
research analyst, Butler Group, said in the Technical Audit, “By
the end of 2006, Datanomic will have a fully-integrated data
quality solution that Butler Group considers
has the potential to put it into a market-leading position. We
consider dn:Director to be an easy-to-use and comprehensive data
quality management tool allowing organisations to benefit from
rapid development of processes.”
Tuck commented “The Butler Group has recognised that, in
addition to dn:Director’s easy to use interface and collaborative
working, Datanomic’s product plans will see the integration
of innovative new functionality. With the next release in September,
Datanomic will be the first to offer Phrase Profiling, providing
users with the unique ability to understand and interrogate text
fields of all sorts,”
Datanomic designed and developed dn:Director to support organisations
and users that need to identify and rectify erroneous, missing
or duplicated data. dn:Director allows organisations to analyse
and clean data within a single, easy to use framework. With a high
level of integration between the functions, there is no need to
change between applications giving users a streamlined, rapid and
efficient approach to enhancing and maintaining the quality of
their data assets. The new solution helps organisations understand,
protect and improve their data for measurable and demonstrable
benefits including saving and earning more revenue, improving user
efficiency and performance, and reducing overheads and customer
churn.
